SEAREN
ALL ABOUT SEAREN
Searen, established in 2013 by co-founder Emmanuel Briquet, a prominent figure in sustainable aquaculture, was born to address the pressing global issue of water quality. Emmanuel's extensive experience includes pioneering the world's first organic-certified fish farms, Provence Aquaculture in 1989 and Corse Aquaculture in 2005. Before relocating to the U.S. in 2013, he was a respected expert in sustainable aquaculture and actively involved in leading Organic Aquaculture organizations worldwide, earning media coverage from CNN and BBC. In 2012, Emmanuel was introduced to the game-changing Vacuum AirLift (VAL™) concept by a mentor at the French Institute for Sea Research. Recognizing VAL's™ potential for transforming water management, he co-founded Searen with American executive John Brooks in 2013, securing an exclusive sub-license for North and South America from Coldep SAS. With the addition of experienced engineer Tom Andrews as Chief Technology Officer in 2015, they collectively developed, tested, and piloted VAL™ in various sectors, culminating in its launch in the North American aquaculture market in late 2017.
