VAL™ Installation for Hatchery, Utah
Updated: Jul 7, 2020

In March 2020, Searen completed the installation of a new VAL™ system at a western U.S. fish hatchery. The fish hatchery was seeking to reduce the levels of dissolved carbon dioxide and nitrogen in the mountain stream water utilized in the fishery operations. They were also seeking higher levels of oxygen to support the health and growth of the hatchlings. The VAL™ based system accomplished these objectives by reducing the dissolved carbon dioxide by 35%, the dissolved nitrogen by 26% and increased the dissolved oxygen by 35%.
